Communities are crucial for productive society as well as for individual happiness. Understanding community means recognizing the importance of individual contribution to building civil society combined with the role of organized entities. As traditional bonds among families, neighborhoods, religions, and other groups become more attenuated for many, we need to think more about our interactions and our organizations.
